Well folks this blog is like the old bus from Bishopstown to Panaah, late for eight and early for eight twenty!
We've had a few fadhbanna teicniúla preventing our efforts, however fingers crossed for today. I would really like to say a huge thank you to all the people who worked so hard to improve our roads. As many visitors will be aware our roads were in bad shape for a very long time but now I am so happy that they have been improved so when you come back to Cape you will see a huge improvement.
The roads are pot-hole free, seem wider, and most importantly the roads are safer for all, both pedestrians and drivers. The people who came from as far away as Mayo, West Galway, Limerick, Tipperary and of course West Cork; worked unbelievably hard. No mattter what the weather threw at them they were out there literally from dawn till dusk killing themselves to get the job done.(legend has it that some of the lads started at 4 am) I doubt they could have done more or worked harder. They really deserve our respect and thanks for all that they did for us. Here at Cape Clear B&B we are hugely thankful. The local minibus can drive up easily and safely delivering our wonderful guests in comfort. When our guests want to go for a stroll the roads are lovely and smooth and safe. For ourselves we can drive safely to go about our daily lives. The new roads have given us a lift, the island looks smarter, more attractive and it is certainly more accessible for all. Of course we hope this new investment in vital infrastructure will continue in the shape of regular, on going and appropriate maintainence- no one wants to back to the bad old days!!

Tháinig slua mór oibrithe anseo ó Mhaigh Eo, Iarthar na Gaillimhe, Luimneach, Tiobrad Árainn agus Ó Iarthar Chorcaí chun an gnó a chur i gcrích. Ní haon áibhéil é a rá gur oibrigh siad ó dhubh go dubh cuma cé comh gránna is a bhí an aimsir le díograis ná bhfeicfeá go ró- mhinic. Obair chrua a bhí ann an ní dócha go bhféadfaidis aon phioc níos mó a dhéanamh ná mar a rinne siad. Mar a deir an seanfhocal -molann an obair an fear ! Tá Cléire níos sábháilte do thiománaithe agus do choisithe anois. Anseo i Cape Clear B&B táimid thar a bheith buíoch as an bhfeabhas iontach atá ar an áit anois. Is féidir leis an mbus áitiúil ár dturasóirí a thabhairt aníos go compordach agus go sábháilte anois, má bhíonn fonn siúlóide ar na turasóirí ní baol dóibh anois leis an dromchla nua ar na bóithre. Tá slacht ar an áit ná bhfacthas ó aimsir na díle agus tá ardmholadh, buíochas agus meas tuillte ag na daoine go léir a chur an jab seo i gcrích. Gura fada buan sibh uile.
